Wedding Flowers
PLUS ... wonderful extras, useful tips, and links
Wedding Flowers... the fashions are always changing, and what was the height of fashion a few years ago will often appear old fashioned when the photographs are resurrected some years later!
But, there are some design basics which should never change.
A petite bride should never have a bouquet which will look as if it swamps her... just scale it down to complement the individual bride. The same applies with both bouquets and dresses... the smaller the person the better it is to keep it plain and simple.
Bright, bold, advancing colors like red and orange will appear larger, blues and greens tend to recede (see our Color page for more assistance).
A long and exhaustive list of all the florists in the world would take forever to compile, be out-of-date before completed, and, more importantly, be of little or no assistance to brides... or anyone else for that matter! What every bride needs is a 'personal' type relationship, one-to-one, with a professional whom they feel they can trust and rely upon. Some florists are good, some are brilliant, and some we won't even mention! Some have wedding flowers as a speciality, really enjoy liasing with the bride, creating her dream in flowers, and are a first-class choice. Sadly, there is no way anyone can know which florists will provide this superior service. Only through personal recommendation, or admiring the flowers at a friend's wedding, can you guage what the design service is like. I would advise, if those options are not open to you, that you go and look at the portfolio books of several florists, talk to them, see how helpful they are. Even better, see if you can get a peek at a bouquet which has been created ready for a wedding that day. [Please see our recommendation at the bottom of this page, why not check out if you have a Flora florist near you? That way you will know they are well qualified.] Then, and only then, give them a trial... ask for a buttonhole, a corsage, a floral arrangement, or anything which will show their skills [or lack of them]... it needn't be an expensive item, but you will learn a great deal about their standards. You will need to know the capabilities of your chosen florist in both the creation of bouquets, buttonholes, corsages (wired creations), AND freeform creations... a wedding flower arrangement for your tables, entrance hall, or other situation. Another route you might like to go down is to either do-it-yourself, (at least in part) or have a friend do it, or do it together... in this case do not miss our 'Wholesale Flowers' page. There are details of many wholesalers who will supply to the public, brides in particular. One cautionary note, it will require a great deal of planning, and will take more time to do the actual setting up than you can imagine! (I know, I have helped out doing wedding flower decorations... and I am a C&G qualified flower arranger.) If you do decide on this route... ENJOY!

S P E C I A L !
A very special place, with satisfied customers worldwide... and no wonder. The wonderful flowers can, sadly, only go to the Hawaiian islands and America [USA].
Other gifts featured on the website can go worldwide, and what wonderful gifts. Handmade individual jewellery from Hawaii... SO, SO beautiful!
Also many other choices, all made by Hawaiian craftspeople... yummy chocolates and cookies, lotions, soaps, baskets, candles, jewelry and unique pens.
Their website is regularly updated, and most of their customers have arrived [and returned again and again] through personal recommendation... what better recommendation do YOU need?
This website, and their flowers and other goodies are enough to make you decide to have your wedding in Hawaii, or one of the islands, so that you can use their fantastic services... for weddings they will deliver your flowers to the local hotels.
If you live in the USA they will also deliver wedding flowers... and you can read many, many testimonials from extremely satisfied brides. Sadly, for those of us who live elsewhere our only chance of using their wonderful flowers is to marry in Hawaii... would that be such a hardship?
