Pictures-Flower

Floral, or Flower Pictures and Art

'PICTURES-FLOWER

The 'Pictures-Flower'... section relates to the four 'picture' headings, i.e. flower pictures, garden flower pictures, wedding flower arrangement picture and flower arrangement picture plus floral art, flower art, and floral arts.

These terms are all variations on a theme which includes the pictures... flower or floral search terms... and according to which Search Engine you use they will bring forth many and varied results... some of which may not be of much help to you, personally.

At the bottom of this page there is a direct link to the 'Art Section' which is the new introduction to this part of the website. The 'Art Section' page also contains a fully functional Sitesearch facility.

It should be noted here that there are separate pages which deal with 'Photography and Sketching', 'Flower Photography', and 'Drawing Flowers'.

So, let's begin with the easiest search to satisfy! If you are looking for pictures-flower, of ANY kind, I'm happy to recommend just two premium suppliers.

Later on in this pictures-flower section we will go on to cover creating/buying a Wedding Flower Arrangement Picture; we will touch on a Flower Arrangement Picture and also on floral and flower art.

Pictures-flower... Flower Arrangement Picture... this search may have already been satisfied with the pictures above... but... if not, can I ask a question?

Are you looking to [1] create a picture yourself, are you wishing to [2] photograph a flower arrangement you have created, or are you wanting to [3] draw/paint a flower arrangement picture?

For the number [1] question, please see detailed information on 'Wedding Flower Arrangement Picture'. For questions [2] and [3] please see the pages on Photography and Sketching, Drawing Flowers, and Flower Photography, where you will find helpful advice on those queries.

For the floral arts, flower art, and floral art queries, if they are not satisfied by the answers above... another question, are you looking for advice on Flower Arranging?

If that is so the two most helpful and up-to-date books on the subject are featured below:-

Both books feature prominently within my own personal library, and together with one which is now out of print, are the mainstay of my collection.

The out of print book dates back to when I did a City & Guilds course in Flower Arranging in the 1980's. The Author was Jean Taylor and the name of the book is 'Creative Flower Arrangement' published by Stanley Paul.

If you wish to obtain a copy go to the 'Choosing Books' page and try one [or both] of the recommended specialist suppliers of rare and out of print books.

The book is simply THE number one authority and takes you from a clear and brilliant explanation of the elements and principles of design on through the basics of creating the designs themselves, with clear explanations of the mechanics required.

Some of Jean Taylors other flower arranging books may have better illustrations, and are well worth obtaining, but the above book is the 'bible' of flower arranging!

The last section of Pictures-Flower deals with both Wedding Flower Arrangement Picture and Flower Arrangement Picture.

Within the Betty Belcher book mentioned above there is a recommendation for a book... ... on drying flowers.

These other books are available:-

I'm sorry to say that I have used none of the above books on preserving flowers. I can only mention that the one was recommended, but it is best if you read the reviews and make up your own mind!

The problems with drying flowers are many... not least, the fact that [when I was taught to do it - I used the Jean Taylor book mentioned above as my mentor] they can pick up moisture from a damp atmosphere even after they have been dried. If this happens they will probably go mouldy! Both shape and colour can be ruined in the drying process too.

If you have something special, like a wedding bouquet to dry and make into a picture... I would strongly advise that either you use a professional service, or you practice with the same kind of material well before you do the real thing! [You may be able to reach a professional bouquet preserver through a wedding co-ordinator. (I think professional bouquet preservers are very few in number.)]

The making of the picture frame, and lining it, is by far the easiest part of the process... you can obtain box frames, line them with a pale green shot silk or velvet and they will look very professional. I have made several up with silk flowers... but silk flowers are far more robust... compared to delicate dried ones.

All I can do, in conclusion, is to wish you good luck in your quest. And hope that this 'Pictures-flower' webpage has answered, at least, most of your questions or helped you find a source of helpful knowledge with which to answer them yourself!

I have since found two new resources which could well help you in your pictures-flower quest...

The first is a booksearch facility, simply brilliant... it is now my #1 recommendation, and you will find it mentioned all over this website... just SO helpful!

www.FetchBook.Info: New & Used Books
Find the Lowest Price - Compare more than a hundred book stores, 60,000 sellers, in a click.

The second is to go to my webpage on flower tools, where you will find details of all the new items available for arranging and preserving flowers... Flower Tools
