Four Season Flowers
Four season flowers... each season of the year has flowers which grow naturally to flower at that specific time. We associate (either consciously, or subconsciously) different plants and flowers, scents, and colours with the different seasons.
First a short list of what will be on this page... (please, if what you are looking for is missing... let me know! Just a short note on our 'Contact Us' form would be SO helpful.)
We have... First. A list of my personal four season flowers associations, from a UK perspective.
Second. A booksearch facility with mention of a relevant book.
Third. A really beautiful 'Four Season Flowers' art collection (for want of a better description).
Fourth. Mention of websites with a name similar to four season flowers.
Fifth. My recommendation for buying flowers which are 'In Season'.
You will find the different sections in the same order as mentioned above... hope this helps.
First... my personal associations for Four Season Flowers...
Beginning at... Early Spring with light scents, and yellow being the predominant colour of association. Think Daffodils and Primroses.
Later Spring... still the scents are light and delicate. Think carpets of blue under fresh light green foliage... Bluebells.
Summer brings a mix of stronger colours and scents. Think old fashioned Roses in deep reds and strong pinks.
I'll probably offend loads of readers, but I cannot stand the garish (I think) orange and regimented stems of the French Marigolds, nor the African ones for that matter. Our own Marigolds (talking from a paint mixing perspective) seem to have just a whisker of white in the mix... and so look so much nicer under our gentler light. Flowers which look good under the bright sun, of say, the Mediterranean, often do not look quite so good under our less intense light conditions.
Autumn/Fall brings a glorious riot of colour to the leaves. You get the burnished colours of the fallen leaves and that glorious indefinable scent peculiar to autumn. Think also of purple and mauve shades of Michaelmas daisies and the special scent and colours of Chrysanthemums (Mums).
Winter brings the Evergreens into play. Holly, Ivy, and Mistletoe. Greenery, red berries, white flowers of Christmas Rose, followed by Snowdrops all set off with the smell of frosty mornings.
Almost everyone has their own personal list of 'must haves' and 'no-nos'! I love to have fresh Hyacinth bulbs in the house, with their gorgeous heady scent, during December and January. As for a no-no, I absolutely love Chrysanthemums and their (to me, Autumnal) scent... but as far as I am concerned, they belong to Autumn.
Commercial flower growing has changed beyond recognition... flowers are flown around the world. They are grown in poly tunnels, brought on, daylight is lengthened or shortened according to need, or they are refrigerated to slow down their growth... all this so that we can have, more or less, any flower at any time of the year... anywhere!

Second... the Booksearch Facility
The booksearch I mentioned is just brilliant. I cannot begin to praise it sufficiently! I just typed 'Four season flowers' into the box, about eight books came up. One might be of interest to anyone from the USA... it is by the American Horticultural Society... namely, 'Ahs Plants for Every Season'.
When you use the facility and want to check a book out, click the 'Compare Prices' (in red)... then when the page comes up, go to the bottom and see if the 'Shipping To' and 'Currency' boxes are set for your country, alter them if not, and then click 'Update'.

Third... the Four season flowers Art
Please, do take a few moments to view this website Four Season Flowers at... ichenwu.com It is all just SO beautiful.
The art is sold locally from her studio in California. Though there are plans both for it to be published next year, and for selling via the internet in the (hopefully) near future.
Why not join me in the queue!

Fourth... internet florists with names similar to Four Season Flowers.
I thought "Four Season Flowers" would be a popular florists name... it seems to sound reliable, proficient, and imaginative to me. As though the florists involved would use new and imaginative designs with flowers that were in season in their locality. [Have I been watching too many high flown design programmes? ...Don't answer that.]
Anyway to cut a long story short, I was wrong. I only found two four season flowers proper florists sites in all the search results I trawled through! One is based in San Diego, Californic, and the other is in Calgary, Alberta, Canada...

Fifth... My recommendation... because you can change the colours and flowers in a particular arrangement. Instructions are on the website. So your own ideas of four season flowers can be incorporated into the chosen design. A real bonus!
My favourite four season flowers Suppliers... and the florist of choice of so many people now. Such personal service is extremely rare these days, maybe that is why customers are changing to them in droves.
Most flowers are delivered by local florists, as long as there is a properly qualified one in the area (see 5 below). Some items are for next day delivery by courier... these are mentioned beside the arrangement on the webpages.
Please note, a full refund is promised if you are dissatisfied in any way.
Other facilities you will find on the home page are Local Maps, Yellow Pages, Weather, and a Photo Gallery.
Here are 7 reasons why I believe in Flora2000.com ... the following is quoted from their website ... I, personally, think reason 5 is MOST important, but 1 is a wonderful confidence booster...
"1. Live 24HR. CUSTOMER SERVICE. Just click on the live help button above (top right) at anytime and we will attend to you. Not just from 9 am - 5 pm, but anytime, day or night, 365 days of the year!
2. The VERY BEST PRICING you will ever find anywhere. Don't even bother looking around, you have come to the SOURCE. You will not find better prices anywhere that are as cheap.
3. A REAL CATALOGUE of products for each country. Not just pictures of flowers which look nothing like what is being delivered, but actual pictures of the products that are being delivered. Take a minute to compare the catalogues of a few countries and you will notice that each is different, and then you'll understand why Flora2000.com is the real thing.
4. Genuine HIGH SECURITY. When you enter in your card details on our server, it is processed in the most secure fashion. In our 4 year online history, through millions of orders, NOT 1 has ever been compromised.
5. All flowers are DELIVERED BY A MASTER FLORIST ONLY, and not by anyone who is not certified. This is a major factor in the florist industry, as it takes years of preparation to achieve Master Florist status and regular exams to maintain it. Many flower companies use non-masters to cut corners, but not Flora2000.com
6. Every order is backed by our GUARANTEE OF SATISFACTION, which means that it will be delivered on time, in good condition and to full value.
7. You will only be charged once delivery is made. Your CARD IS NOT CHARGED AT THE TIME OF ORDER PLACING"
Send Flowers to 180 countries
PS. Do check out the testimonials... very revealing... it seems to be that quite a few flower customers, who have been dissatisfied with other flower delivery services, have transferred to Flora2000... and are now VERY HAPPY. Maybe you will join them soon!
