Birthday flowers... when you want to send flowers...

      • You want to be able to rely on the florists.

      • You want to know that the flowers which you order are 'what you         have ordered'.

      • You want to know that they will arrive on time.

      • You want to know that they will be fresh and will last for a reasonable length of time.

In other words you need to be able to rely one hundred per cent, plus, upon your florist of choice.

Birthday Flowers...

If the recipient of your floral gift lives in close proximity to you, when they contact you to say 'thank you'... ask if they are totally happy with the quality of the flowers.

Most probably they will invite you round to see the flowers and you can check for yourself to see if they are as you expected, and if they are fresh... check if any pollen has fallen from the stamens onto the petals, if so they are well opened and past their optimum freshness. Of course, if the flowers are lilies they may have had their stamens removed.

If possible check that no leaves are below the water line, or are not wilting.

A quick look will suffice... and if you can further check how long the flowers last, all to the good.

Obviously, if the recipient lives too far away... you will have to make do with a telephone call. Ask for their 'honest' opinion... otherwise, how can you know if you should use that particular florist again or not.
