How Can I Save Money On My Wedding Flowers?

The answer to this is relatively easy; do not mention that you are getting married. Flowers are already pricey, the minute you mention that they are for a wedding it all goes down hill from there. Sure, you will get a beautiful flower arrangement, but you may be paying almost double what the traditional buyer would pay, just because the flowers are for a wedding.

Avoid mentioning the wedding and order your flowers. You can always put the flowers together into bouquets or posies yourself or ask someone to do it for you, you will just need the flowers and supplies.

    Bouquets

Bouquets are perhaps the most popular type of wedding flowers to date. There are two general types of bouquets, these are known as free style bouquets and teardrop or shower bouquets. For a free style bouquet, you are looking at a natural looking arrangement. The flowers are generally long stemmed and tied loosely together to form the bouquet.

A teardrop or shower bouquet is more traditional and classic. These are the common types of bouquets you find at weddings. All flowers come together at one point to form a teardrop that has been inverted.

    Posies

Posies are another type of flower arrangement often used in weddings. There are two different types of posies - hand tied posies and formal posies. Hand tied posies are very similar to free style bouquets except that these flowers are short stemmed. They are tied loosely generally with a ribbon.

A formal posy is an arrangement of flowers that have been packed tightly and rounded. In many cases, this arrangement is chosen when the couple decides to use roses as their wedding flowers.
